These are the 600 islands of the St. Lawrence River, microcosms unique approach to nature and culture of Quebec.Starting from the bustling metropolis of Montreal, also built on an island, we reach the islands of Lac Saint-Pierre. Important bird sanctuary consists of a hundred islands separated by narrow channels filled with vegetation and traveled by boat. Cartier landed here in 1535, but the first colonists settled there only 200 years later.
Ile Verte, the first lighthouse was built in the St. Lawrence, now a Bed & Breakfast. The small village has only 30 inhabitants!

Continuing along the river opens up to become ocean. Here are the impressive monoliths of Mingan Archipelago, Canada’s national reserves. Anticosti, about the size of Corsica, has less than 300 inhabitants but the population more than 100,000 deer in Virginia! The national park island hosts some of the most beautiful natural sites of the island territory of Quebec.

The Iles-de-la-Madeleine offer travelers lagoons bordered by sandy beaches and the famous cliffs of red sandstone. And at the end of winter, we are witnessing the thrilling spectacle of the birth of the seal pup.
And finally, the Ile Bonaventure, which hosts the largest colony of gannets throughout North America and is part of a national park that attracts travelers from all over the world.
